Our plan was to leave the Toledo weather behind but it has followed us so far to SW Texas.
We started out by driving a couple long days (Bowling Green KY) the first night and stayed in a Camping World Store parking lot.
The next night we stayed at the Big Buck Resort in Hornsby TN, which was a hunting camp in the middle of nowhere. Our GPS got us in and out of there like we had been going there for years (amazing technology)
The third night we stayed at the RV Music Park in Texarkana TX and woke to (no not music) but to a weather report that sounded more like Northern Michigan, ice...wind & snow...with bad drivers.
We still got about a third of the way across TX with all the bad weather on our fourth day and stayed at a Flying J truck stop in Abilene....still in the low 30's we just wanted a place to sleep...along with 15 to 20 other travelers.
Which brings us to our current location and fourth night in the little town of Van Horn TX about 100 miles from El Paso. We ate lunch at Cuebys (a favorite of John Madden's) and are staying at the Mountain View Camp Ground. It has warmed a little but is still about 35 tonight.....so we just throw on another blanket.
We will either stay in NM or southern AZ tomorrow night before dropping in for a quick visit
with our niece Kelly and her family now living in Tucson before trucking up to the Phoenix area where we will be spending Christmas with Payne Family.
