ROSE PARADE

This year's theme, 2010: A Cut Above the Rest reflects the Tournament of Roses commitment to excellence as the organization strives to put together a parade every year that is better than the last. As this was probably a once in a life time experience for us...there effort was deeply appreciated.

Our package through the Glendale, CA RV Club "S.O.I." provided much more than great seats to watch the parade.

We stayed at the Santa Anita Race Track in Arcadia for 5 days with electric hook-ups and catered meals.

They kept us very busy with planned activities that we were bused to like: The Huntington Museum and Outdoor Garden Tour, The "Glory of Christmas" performance at the beautiful Crystal Cathedral (with live sheep, horses & camels), The marching band competition "Band Fest", An afternoon of Horse Racing with lunch in the Club House, And a tour to see all the floats get there final touches.

But the highlight was our 4 hours we worked on the City of Sierra Madre Rose Parade Float "California Girls" . Our group cut over 20,000 roses and prepared them to be placed on the float.....What an Experience....We will never look at The Rose Parade the same...after seeing all that goes into putting these floats together.
Next.....The Rose Bowl Game !!!
