SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Hi all...it's a while since our last post but we have been very busy doing nothing or as little as possible. Left our plush digs in the Arizona desert on the 9th and headed west into California. This picture is of a natural hot springs just outside of El Centro, CA where Sandy's Aunt Mary, Uncle Jo , Cousin Mary Jo & husband Larry live. There is dry camping (without water or elec.) just accross the road from this spot for just $ 1.00 per day. We stayed in the church parking lot next to her cousin for two days and took advantage of the local knowledge and personal tours...not to mention the great food which included a Mexican breakfast sandwich from a local donut shop run by a Asian...very...very good.

On Monday the 12th we started out early...for us...about 8:30 and headed North about 50 miles to the Salton Sea area 235 ft. below sea level and found a real nice place to stay a couple days.

We are at the Fountain of Youth Spa RV Resort & its been 85 during the day and 47 a night...just beautiful. As we talk to some of the Snow Birds here we have learned what took them years to figure out and that is....this is one of the best places to spend the winter.
Hot Mineral Water Spas, 3 Jet Pools, 2 Swimming Pools, Massage Therapy 2 Natural Steam Rooms and tons of organized activities.

We leave tomorrow for the coast...Long Beach.... to visit nephew Brad and maybe a jump into the Pacific Ocean for a little swim.
