QUARTZSITE

When you mention Quartzsite to any well traveled RV'er you are bound to get a variety of coments...some positive...some not. This place is a community of people living out of all kinds, shapes & sizes of RV's...from old VW hippy style vans to multi million dollar "over the top" rigs. We stayed in what we thought was one of the nicest places in the whole town...and the only reason we got in was the Show Season was winding down and people were clearing out and either going home or traveling to another location...some to set up and sell again. We were told by many that we had just missed the "sea of humanity" as one lady called it which was pretty much by accident on our part being "newbies" to all of this...and for our first time...worked out perfect from where we stayed to the ease of getting around on our bikes.

It took two and a half days to get a good idea where everything was and to compare prices on things we were interested in...some of which we have been looking for and pricing at different places over the last months...we actually saved more than enough to cover our RV park stay $22 per night which is at the high end...cost wise of over 30 parks in the area.

Most people that come to the "Q" stay out in the desert, it's called Boondocking with no hook ups, for free or about $1 per night...but you need to have your RV set up with special equipment to pull that off comfortably...we aren't there yet...but we are working on it.

In this picture you can see a few RV's docking in the distance. When we came by here on our way back to the Phoenix area from the west coast a month ago we estimate that there were over two thousand RV's spread out in the desert for miles.

We are both in agreement that this place will be visited again...and the next time it will be during the show month of January.
