From the
Salton Sea at (235 ft. below sea level) we went south to El Centro, just north of Mexico, at (35 ft.b.s.l.) for a short visit with Sandy's Aunt (Mary) Uncle (Joe) Cousin (Mary Jo) & her husband (Larry).
We had a great time catching up, and reminiscing along with even taking in the local Holiday Parade.
Sandy (at a Camping World Store) filled out a
card for a chance to win some free nights at a 5 star RV resort, $200 in free gas and $50 cash....Ya..they pulled her card...along with some others.
So that is were we went next...The K.Q. Ranch RV Resort in the little town of Julian at(4,600 ft.) We needed to collect on this "prize" before the end of the year so even though a weather system was moving into the area with a forecast of rain and snow....so we went.

A beautiful little place in the mountains with camping hook-ups and little cabins. Unfortunately it rained hard for two days and nights with high winds then we had cold temps (19) and blowing snow for a day and night. The fourth and last day the weather broke to be partly cloudy in the 50's which also was the day we took our guided tour and listen to the sales pitch.
We past on the deal !!!... and then took the tight winding road toward our next stop....... Oceanside at (5ft. above sea level)....and warmer temps...but still a little on the wet side. This is a very nice town right on the Pacific that we will stop at again.
Now it's off to Long Beach for more of an extended stay...
