As we entered Louisiana we found ourselves running a little ahead of schedule (being flexible) so we stopped at Elks Lodge #2321 in Slidell, LA just outside New Orleans. They put on large Spook Trail for the hundreds of locals...which was a lot of fun for us to watch and...as you can see right in the Bayou.
"Again...the Elks offer a great and inexpensive place for us to stop along the way"
Then we spent one night at the Elks Lodge #30 in New Orleans before checking in (what we call an extended stay) of five nights at the Pontchartrain Landing RV Park.
This Full Service park has a shuttle that runs 4 times a day to the French Quarter, which was perfect for us (not having a car) to see all the sights....and as you can see, because it was Halloween, sights were plentiful...and the food of course wasn't bad either.
