Quartzsite is a quirkier little town in Arizona, 20 miles from California on U.S.10, a favorite winter spot for RVing Snow Birds from Northern US & Canada.
A number of large organized activities like car, RV and gem shows high light every Jan. & Feb. but hundreds of vendors, a few with permanent locations but most set up for 3 or 4 months ...trying to sell something to the estimated 800 thousand RV'ers that come there annually.
There are a few full service RV Parks available. We stayed at one of the best, Holiday Palms but most of the RV'ers Dry Camp (without electric, water & sewer) on government land in the desert and the surrounding foothills for free.
What's the draw...anything...and every thing imaginable for sale at a perceived bargain price and many of what is being sold is RV related. Some RV'ers love it and go every year...others, it's one and done...for us, every 2 or 3 years seems about right... It's a very interesting place with some interesting people...and here are a few picks...
