We then moved across the bay to Chula Vista RV Resort & Marina just south of San Diego and only eight miles from Mexico. We had a couple stormey days in the begining of our week long stay...and when thay say it never rains in Southern California, well it just doesn't rain that offen...when it rains it comes down perty good.
A Air Streem RV Club was having a rally at this place while we were there and we just had to add a picture of this beautiful restored cab over truck with a very nice restored Air Streem Traller... note the back of the truck looks like a Coovered Wagen....very cool...and yes this is what you see in California.
This was a very nice park and marina with a couple great restaurants next door and it was close enought to ride our bikes to public transportation. So we took the trolly and bus to Old Town & the Zoo.
Old Town was a pleasent surpurise of great restaurants, shops & gardens in an old Spanish village setting. We ended up here twice and if we get a chance we will come here again.

We didn't bring our Pass Ports so this was our side trip to Mexico!
The Zoo....was very large...and of course a lot to see, but our home town of Toledo also has a great Zoo, and even though S.D. Zoo has more variety of plants & animals and more room to display everything... we could have skipped it. It's a lot different when you have kids with you... & Tony doesn't count.
