They had just taken delivery on there new Lance Truck Camper and were very anxious to try it out, so we met them the Sedona AZ area for a few days, and had a blast.
The following pictures are what happens when you hang out with "YOUTH"
First of all this is one of the most beautiful places in the country!
We camped at a variety of places because of the different activities with getting reservations because of spring break. But camping is the type of activity that can be planned on the go.
Just look at us, we have been doing that for five years...
An off road trip over rough terrain added to the adventure and gave us a close up look at the beautiful scenery ... had to stop to get a good picture.
Following the pink "tour jeep" which gives an idea how steep the grade was..
slow...slower...stop...bump...bump...up...down...you get the idea!
Then we went to the BLAZIN' M RANCH which was a combined old west setting with a great cowboy dinner complete with excellent entertainment.
We got to shoot a real Colt 45 and take home the target, or try our hand at roping or just enjoying the old west setting.
....and of course try to stay out of trouble
The highlight of the evening was when the band played "GHOST RIDER"
and this horse back rider raced past the window. Needless to say it got everyone's attention, especially the kids.
Of course any camping trip that we are on there is a fair amount of hiking and there was lots of trails to choose from.
Campfires are always fun, but Uncle Tony aren't you supposed to roost and eat those marshmallows ?
So as quick camping trips go and the first one in there new camper we think everyone had a great time. For Sandy and Tony this was a fitting "almost" end to a very enjoyable seven month trip. But we need to start heading back to Ohio to see how our house survived the history breaking winter and of course plan our next trip which will be along the east coast and into Florida.
So we say goodbye to the warm South West and the AZ Payne's hospitality.
