HUNTINGTON BEACH

As you can see things are rough in California...the weather has been seasonably warm for the coast at 86... but we aren't complaining.

Our short visit of only 10 days made us want to return for a longer stay....You can see why so many people live here...it's just beautiful

On our way to the coast we stayed in a couple nice state parks that the state was renovating...nice to see with all the money problems CA is having they are investing in their parks.

We stayed just across the Pacific Coast Hy. from the Ocean in Huntington Beach and spent most of our time at the beach as did a lot of the locals....the surf was up so the surfers were out in force...we estimate just at this beach at least 200 were in the water on last Sat.

Another thing we like about out here is the active lifestyle....everywhere you go people of all ages are walking...bike riding...rollerblading...running...or playing games on the beach.

We took our bikes only about 15 miles along the beach...we could have road endlessly along the coast...but we had to stop and check out all the dogs at the Dog Park, the Farmers Market, a couple RV Parks (right on the beach) and all the surfers.

We also had a short visit with our nephew Brad who just recently relocated to CA and understandably loves the lifestyle.

Two of the things on his list to learn is surfing & Spanish....because it is spoken so much out here that he thinks that will benefit him in his work and every day life.

Tony flyes out of Phoenix to Toledo for 3 days just to see if it is as cold there as everyone says... and then back to AZ before heading Lexi east to New Mexico.
