SOUTH PADRE ISLAND

We are now at our most southern point of this trip, South Padre Island in the Gulf Of Mexico, and after today we start heading back north to O H I O .........well for a little while.
As you can see we have a beautiful spot over looking Laguna Madre Bay between Port Isabel and South Padre. The weather that has been....very much on our side for most of our trip...but has decided to through us a cool 62 and a windy 25mph day...so no swimming in the Gulf today.

We took the The Wave....(a free shuttle) around the island and back and forth crossed the Causeway to Port Isabel which was a great way to see the layout of the island and get a feel for how big this vacation destination is....it's good size...with lots of hotels and condos along with 4 RV parks with varying amenities.

A was a nice place to spend the night...and if it was a little warmer we would be tempted to stay longer but with only 14 days left before B.I.T. (back in Toledo) we need to start heading north.

Our next stop is a national park...a little more to our liking...and which is on the same Padre Island Seashore but we need to travel about 185 miles and go through Corpus Christi to get there. We will stay there for a couple days if the weather report is correct with less winds and warmer temps.
