When we left Padre Island we stayed as close to the shore line as we could traveling north/east through quaint little towns. We chose a rough with lots of bridges (some small and others enormous as Sandy will attest) along with one ferry crossing "Lexi's first"...It was between Port Aransas and Aranas Pass Texas.
On the map it indicated a toll ferry but nobody ever collected any money. There were six barge type ferrys running a distance of a little over a quarter mile and very organized with a large number of people working in precision both on and off the boats
