When we left our nephew's in Surprise AZ on March 22nd. the weather was beautiful but we were heading into a three days of very windy travel.
At times we had to slow way down and almost stop because the blowing dust was so thick and the cross wind was so strong.
We pull into rest stops and gas stations for over night parking while traveling long distance like this spot at a FLYING J where we were able to get out of the wind for a few hours.
Of course we couldn't come back through Texas without stopping for a little
BAR-B-Q and this spot was just off RT 20 in Sweetwater...A Great Find!!!
Of course we still stop at Elks along the way like #8680 here in Texarkana.
We had a good night stay with a great meal. Tony also met some nice members that invited him to play golf the next time we came through.
"Terry Mc Nutt" ..Tony will look forward to calling you before we come through to set up a round of golf in Sep-Oct 2017.
Of course the day after we got home...Tuesday March 29th we awoke
to 8 inches of wet snow which was a shock to our Birch tree... it did
survive and our jeep that hasn't seen much snow spending most of
life in Florida.
But just a couple days later we took in the Mud Hens opening game
...Welcome back to Ohio!
Another good trip with great memories!!!
As we look forward to a busy summer with family and friends we are
also looking towards our next adventure which will be in Florida starting the
first of September on Siesta Key at a county campground call Turtle Beach.
