OUR HALF WAY POINT AT TURTLE BEACH CAMPGROUND

Wow how fast 2 1/2 months goes when your working...OK...when your having fun. Regardless of how we look at our time here on Siesta Key we have had a lot of fun...interrupted here and there by helping campers with questions about the area and help getting settled into one of the best little campgrounds in the United States...

This being a small campground doesn't limit what you can do once you are here but it might limit you getting in because of size restrictions.

We have an elaborate chart as a guide to help us fit Motor Homes, Trailors,
Fifth Wheels and Tents into only 41 campsites. So it gets interesting
when 15 guest show up on a Friday afternoon at 5:00pm.

....And these guests come from all over like the couple with this unusual rig from Denmark. They have visited some very out of the way places in this
go "just about" anywhere motorhome.

The lightly colored country's are where they have been...now in
North America they will be highlighting states as they go.

Sometimes campers rent extra mode of transportation to get around
...and these guys from Michigan sure got around.

This is a Roya-lite which was a proto type by Stewart Coach Industries in
Bristol IN that never went into production.

This family from France is taking a year traveling throughout North America
heading to Mexico and eventually South America. There journey started
in Canada after there RV was shipped there... which as we found out
from other visitors is fairly common.

Another nice family from Holland shipped there VW Camper Van over
and spent six months traveling around the United States

But most over seas visitors to United States that want to see all the sites by
traveling in an RV rent one from a number of companies. Or some even buy
an RV when they come over...travel around...and then sell it and fly home.

In our short time here at this little campground we have seen people from
all over the world...which has become common place with at least two per week.

When you come onto Siesta Key and travel down Midnight Pass Road
on your way to Turtle Beach Campground you will pass through a very
nice neighborhood...to say the least.

The campground is owned and run by Sarasota County and part of
there large park system. These pictures are from the Fall Festival/Halloween
weekend which has become a tradition. Our Granddaughters Taylor and
Sidney joined in the fun which include face painting, costume design,
some or making, music, paddle boarding and of course trick-or-treat.

No... the goats were not at the campground...
This was from a trip to a farm that had a fall festival program.

Lots to do like playing golf with friends from back home...Cathy and Denny
who have a condo in the area are the ones that introduced us to
Siesta Key and Turtle Beach Campground along with other
activites in the area.

This is our beach and Sandy enjoying the weekly Yoga class.

Many fish from the shore line and some campers bring there boats to go out
on the water...the county has a public park next to the campground with
access to the beach, boat ramp, canoe and kayak rentals and fishing dock
on the inlet waterway.
