FESTIVAL FUN CLOSE TO OUR SIESTA KEY STAY

The great thing about this area in Florida is the different types of festival that  are available throughout the year. There's always something going on and things to do...so we though we would share a few with you.

This is the International Sand Art Festival which draws artists from
around the world and held on Siesta Key Beach in the middle of November.

But if you miss it you can travel 64 miles south to Fort Myers Beach
where they do it all over again 3 weeks later.

Another international Event that takes place on the same weekend as
the Siesta Sand competition is the Chalk Art Festival in Venice which is
about 15 miles south of us.

This also draws artist from all over....with this years theme
[PEACE and LOVE]

Truly beautiful works of art that my i phone cannot completely capture...

They even have a wall to leave your mark on...y-not!

And I couldn't resist a little interaction with a couple old friends
from Chicago...Ha..Ha..

A new festival for us was the Siesta Key Seafood and Music gathering just
off the Nations Number 1 Beach. They moved from Sarasota this year and
we are glad they did being only 4 miles from Turtle Beach Campground.

This was a left over t-shirt from when they held the festival in Sarasota,
I liked the design but we loved the food and music

A celebration that happens every Sunday before sunset and into the evening is
The Siesta Key Drum Circle to reconnect with Mother Nature and to enjoy
some wonderful spontaneous entertainment.

Even some giant bubbles to add to the atmosphere...

And as always a nice sunset to finish our day...
